Before chasing the gold medal in London, Leyva distinguished himself as a competitor globally. At just 17 he became the youngest member of the US National Senior team.
Leyva, the 2011 U.S. all-around and World parallel bars champion, won the 2012 American Cup and the U.S. Olympic Trials all-around title, which earned him a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
Danell Leyva will be one of the leading contenders in the March 2 meet.
